OUR SITE FEATURES

To support general education students under the "Learn Anytime, Anywhere" initiative, the Tigray Education Bureau's LMS will feature a suite of tools designed for resilience, accessibility, and interactive learning.

Student-Centric Learning Tools

Offline Mode & Low-Bandwidth Access: Essential for the regional context, this allows students to download lessons, videos, and PDFs when they have internet and study them later without a connection. Interactive Course Modules: Subjects like Math and Science are broken into "bite-sized" lessons with interactive quizzes to keep students engaged. Personalized Dashboards: A "Home" screen where students see their current progress, upcoming deadlines, and personalized recommendations based on their performance. Digital Portfolios: A space for students to upload creative work, projects, and certificates of completion to track their growth over time.

Communication and Collaboration

Integrated Messaging: A secure way for students to ask teachers questions directly or receive feedback on their assignments. Discussion Forums: Peer-to-peer boards where students can collaborate on group projects or discuss complex topics, fostering a sense of community. Live Virtual Classrooms: Integration for synchronous (real-time) video lessons when connectivity allows, bringing the classroom experience to the screen.

Assessment and Progress Tracking

Automated Grading: Instant feedback on multiple-choice quizzes so students know immediately which concepts they need to review. Gamification Elements: Badges, points, and leaderboards to motivate students as they complete different levels of the general education curriculum. Parent/Guardian Portals: A dedicated view for parents to monitor their child’s attendance, grades, and emotional well-being scores.

Support and Resilience Features

MHPSS Resources: Integrated mental health and psychosocial support modules specifically designed for students recovering from conflict-related trauma. Multilingual Interface: Support for Tigrigna and other local languages to ensure the interface is intuitive and culturally relevant. ETOL Integration: Alignment with the "Ethiopian Teaching and Learning" standards to ensure students are meeting national requirements while learning remotely.

About Us

Tigray Region Education Bureau ቢሮ ትምህርቲ ትግራይ

The Tigray Region Education Bureau (TREB) is the governing body dedicated to restoring and modernizing the region’s school system. Currently, the Bureau is prioritizing Education in Emergencies, focusing on rebuilding destroyed infrastructure and providing psychosocial support for students and teachers. To build a more resilient future, the TEB is spearheading a digital transformation through its own Learning Management System (LMS), enabling students to access quality curriculum "anytime and anywhere." This initiative aims to overcome geographic barriers and ensure that every child in Tigray has a path back to learning, regardless of their circumstances.

LEARN ANYTIME, ANYWHERE

It is clear that the Tigray Education Bureau's vision of developing a powerful LMS is revolutionizing the field of academia, making it possible for each and every one of the learners within the community to have access to an efficient and effective learning program. This is a step beyond the limitations that physical schools and classes impose on students as it gives them the freedom to learn at their own pace without any restrictions regarding time and location. With the help of this digital campus, it will be possible for students to turn even their homes or community centers into dynamic classrooms with the use of portable devices and online resources that can facilitate easy access to learning. It goes without saying that such a system is especially important within the Tigrayan setting as it ensures that all learners will be able to fit their studies into their lifestyles, regardless of their current location.
